Dear Mr Rumbel

Re: Dump Truck Operator position, Ref: 123AB

Please accept my application for the position of dump truck operator which was advertised in the Daily Sun on 10 April 2010.

I am an efficient and professional dump truck operator with over three years experience working in mining and construction environments. I have extensive experience in driving CAT 777 trucks as well as Komatsu 785 and CAT 785 trucks.

For the past year I have been working as a freelance dump truck operator, mainly in mining operations as well as municipal work around and outside of Perth, while I completed my Statement of Attaining in Dump Truck Operations. Working as a freelance operator pushed me to be self-driven and motivated to set my own targets and strive to reach them.

Prior to this I was a dump truck driver with Monster Trucking Services, a large company that provided trucks and other machinery for mining operations, in particular the gold mining environment. Here I was able to hone my driving skills and gain an understanding of the mining environment.

While working I maintain a focus on safety at all times as well as meeting the production targets. My referees can vouch for my consistently strong production rates.

Working in a company setting as well as individually has given me the skills to communicate effectively – verbally or in writing – in any situation. I have a HR driver’s licence and a passionate and positive outlook that I bring to any project or situation.

My resume is attached and I look forward to discussing the position with you further.

Kind Regards
